The Boathouse Studio,  Bourne End, owned and operated by talented artist  Jackie Callingham, has won the Cabinetry and Joinery gong at the Product Design Awards 2020, run by the prestigious Society of British Interior Design.

The SBID Product Design Awards celebrate the finest design, innovation and functionality for products within the interior design sector. The SBID International Design Awards showcase the world’s best interior designers and projects.

Stained glass designed and made by Jackie Callingham at her Boathouse Studio, and door made and carved by Colin Mantripp at Lillyfee Woodcarving Studio Ltd.  The new entrance is 2.4 metres by 2.4 metres by 17 centimetres.

 

A grand new entrance for a riverside property during a major refurbishment. Using traditional materials and methods throughout, the resulting English oak and stained glass entrance is designed to delight.

"The Cabinetry & Joinery category focuses on interior cabinetry and joinery such as wardrobes, doors, fitted furniture and bespoke pieces. Creating a grand new entrance for a riverside property during a major refurbishment, the stained glass was designed and made by Jackie Callingham at her Boathouse Studio, with bespoke door carved by Colin Mantripp at Lillyfee Woodcarving Studio Ltd. Using traditional materials and methods throughout, the resulting English oak and stained glass entrance is designed to delight.

 

Despite the unprecedented challenges facing the industry this year, the SBID Awards 2020 have been the most globally represented edition to date.
